Every oscillator contains a dedicated noise page.
Fathom generated noise in real time, never with a prerecorded loop. A separate noise oscillator is assigned to each detune voice.
Noise is generated by the processor using a sin wave with randomly fluctuating frequency. This technique creates the smoothest and most realistic white noise possible. This is a more effective method than simply generating random time domain samples and filtering the result.
Fathom's noise algorithm does not require a filter to operate, though one is provided if you want to emphasize of cut certain frequencies.
Keyboard tracking is also provided for both the noise frequency and filter frequency, so that the tonality of the noise can follow voice pitch. Keyboard tracking is a function of the instantaneous voice frequency rather than the midi note frequency so that the noise will closely follow a monophonic glide or modulated pitch.
All noise parameters can be modulated.
